The classic vintage overdrive voice has always fascinated me. It’s creamy, smooth, warm, and extremely versatile. It’s probably the most adopted flavor in the world, with every major pedal builder having at least one take on it.
Circuits are like recipes, and the same recipe can taste different even with identical ingredients. That’s how it is with circuits. So, this one is my recipe: I chose the JRC4558D IC chip for its character, made my own decisions everywhere else, and wired the whole thing true bypass.
This is the most iconic flavor there is in overdrive, and the Jalapeño is the most iconic pepper in the world. It was just the perfect match to describe the flavor of this circuit. This is how the Jalapeño Screamer was born.
