Spicy Pedals is a one-man act. Rolf picks the circuit, lays out the board, and does the wiring and the soldering himself, at a desk in Dallas, Texas. That is the entire company — when you write in, he is the one who answers.

It started when a twenty-year-old multi-effects unit broke and nobody could fix it. One repair video led to another, and a week later there was a first overdrive on the desk.

  1. The circuit — chosen so it plays well with whatever else is on your board, not just on its own.
  2. The parts — the ones that shape the sound are named on the product page. JRC4558D, 1N4148, and so on.
  3. The build — hand-wired and hand-soldered, one unit at a time.
  4. The manual — controls, power and care. Published here too, free, no email required.
  5. After it ships — 30 days to change your mind, five years on manufacturing defects.
