Jalapeño Screamer Verde

A modded Screamer with bigger bass, richer gain, and spicy bite.

“A fresh twist on a classic overdrive—richer,  fuller, and spicier.”

Some overdrives whisper, some growl, and then there’s the Jalapeño Screamer Verde—a modded evolution of the beloved Jalapeño Screamer Vintage Overdrive, with a tone as bold as its vibrant green finish. If the original was a nod to the legendary TS808 circuit, the Verde takes it a step further, adding more bass, more bite, and a more open soundstage.

At its heart remains the JRC4558D chip, delivering that familiar midrange push, but with a deeper low-end response that guitarists and bassists alike will appreciate. The added gain structure doesn’t just boost—it enhances, making every note feel fuller and more dynamic. Whether you’re pushing your amp into smooth saturation or dialing in a hotter, spicier lead tone, the Verde handles it with warmth and clarity.

Unlike traditional overdrives that can feel compressed or honky, the Verde breathes, allowing more harmonic richness and a touch more aggression when needed. Think of it as the overdrive for players who love the classics but aren’t afraid to push the limits. And with true bypass switching, your clean tone remains pure when the pedal is off.

If the original Jalapeño Screamer was the perfect balance of heat and sweetness, the Verde turns up the flavor—a bold, full-bodied overdrive that keeps the soul of the classic but gives you more of everything that makes it great.

Stuff You Need to Know

I create my pedals manually.

Firstly, I design most of the PCBs and carefully select the parts required for the pedal. Next, I solder the parts by hand and manually wire them. I also design the faceplate art and get it placed into each enclosure myself.

Finally, I clear coat the pedals and hand them to my wife who packages them, and we do all of this work in our living room located in Dallas, Texas.

That’s why every pedal is different.
Every pedal is special.

This is mainly a one-person operation, although my amazing wife helps with packaging and provides me with all the motivation necessary for Spicy Pedals to exist.

Although I make small batches, I don’t keep much inventory because this is a micro-operation. However, we do accept backorders for most of my pedals, but please note that it may take up to two weeks to fulfill your backorder.

In case you opt to backorder a pedal, I will send you an email to inform you about the estimated time required to create your pedal.

I offer a 5-year warranty to the original buyer. If the pedal is not working or it is not doing what it is supposed to do, send me an email, and we’ll figure out what’s up.  Please email me before returning anything.  You can reach me at [email protected].

Thank you very much for visiting my website. All of this has been made out of love for music and stompboxes.
